Service Updates
Our food pantry hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday mornings at 9 AM until noon. We have limited parking so we ask that you call ahead at 828-682-7251 and reserve a time to come in so that we can get you in and out quickly and efficiently.
There are three ways to get food. We offer a pre-pack box brought to your car, neighbor choice where you come in and shop off the shelves, or you can go to OrderAhead.org and select foods and they will be ready for you to pick up at your appointed time. You can come in and get food every two weeks or monthly. If you are unable to come during these hours, you can send a family member or neighbor to pick up for you. Just let us know when you call.
We offer financial assistance for heating, utility bills, and other necessities. Please call and talk to a client services person to apply over the phone. applications are also available on our front porch in the bins to the left of the door. Drop completed forms in the lock box.

What We Do
Our organization is dedicated to aiding the most vulnerable in our community. Established in Burnsville, NC, we’ve aided the less fortunate and vulnerable in Yancey County since 1983. Many of those we helped were able to get back on their feet and start their lives anew.

Thrift Store
Many items donated to Reconciliation House are not needed for clients. These items are priced and sold in our Thrift Store. Our thrift sales are very important since they are a major source of revenue for the ministry. All funds received from thrift sales go directly to support the ministry to help offset administrative costs and provide services to clients. We feel that our Thrift Store is also a ministry since is provides a place to shop where items are priced at near yard sale prices. Low-income families may shop for items and extra clothing that they cannot afford to purchase in a regular retail store. Clients are given vouchers for free clothing they can select from our sales floor.
